Frequently Asked Questions

Who seeks you out?

Leaders who care deeply about their teams and want to create space for all the chapters, both the celebrations and the trials.  Companies that want to attract the best talent and be known as a truly exceptional organization.  We’ll work through actionable concrete steps to make your company a leader in holding space for grief and loss.  Grief is a passage and we can guide people to strength on the other side by being the light.

We're ready to lead this enhancement in our culture - where do we start?

The goal is to reimagine your culture, how it supports your team and keeps your company strong.

  •  Together we can host an interactive conversation about loss and grief with your team.  We'll create a baseline of information about how to rethink how we can bring grief out of the darkness and shine a light on it together.

  • Consider lots of concrete options for building your own unique culture and plan.

  • Create co-worker and manager support programs.

  • Design return to work plans.

  • We have certifications for your HR professionals/ People & Culture team, and we have programs for peer support specialists we call "good grief-ers"

What are some good conversation starters to allow/encourage stories about a loss?

Invite the grieving person to place a photo on their desk ( or on the company intranet if remote working) and recognize the importance of it.  Ask about it, some conversation starters follow this section and are included in grief training.  Provide gentle evidence they don’t have to hide grief.

Here are some conversation starter questions to check in with:

  • When you're ready I'd love to hear a story about your Mom.

  • What’s coming up for you these days around your loss?

  • What is a favorite memory you have of them?

  • What’s something you miss (or not miss) about them?

  • Is there anything you wish people would ask (or not ask)?

  • What’s something helpful someone did for you after the passing?

  • What’s a memory that made you smile in the last few days?
